Celebrating the 20th anniversary of Swiss-Prot
Swiss-Prot, the manually curated section of the UniProt Knowlegdebase, celebrated its 20 years of service to the scientific community in 2006. To celebrate this occasion it organized a 5-day conference whose main themes were:
- Knowledgebases, databases and other information resources for proteins
- Sequence searches and alignments
- Protein sequence analysis
- Protein structure prediction, analysis and visualization
- Proteomics data analysis
47 internationally renowned speakers spoke at this event and participants from all over the world attended.
Swiss-Prot 20 years & ISMB 2006
The organizers of the "Swiss-Prot 20 years" meeting worked in close association with the organizers of ISMB 2006 in order to guarantee the connection between the two meetings, such as the stay at the same hotel, booking with the same travel agency, etc.
